Sixteen Tons viettaa pari kuukautta taalla kun kipparilla on muita kiireita. Mahtava paikka. Ystavallisia ihmisia ja palvelu pelaa. Kun viela nakisin heidan maskottinsa, 10' pitkan alligaattorin.

Sixteen Tons is going to stay a couple of months here because Skipper is busy.  A great place.  Kind people and their service is really good.  I hope I could see their mascot , 10' long alligator.

USS Alabama & USS Drum (SS-228)

USS Alabama (picture is borrowed from the US Army Corps of Engineers) is a South Dakota battleship.  That was a place which would need at least one week to study.  Regrettably you have to research or study the ship self-guided and I had enormous amount of questions without answers.  For instance, how was her belt armor, which is 12" thick, put together?  The battleship has a main armament, three gun towers, all having three 16" guns.  Two towers are in the picture below, and the third shoots over the stern.

USS Drum, would need another week and you could really be able to see it.  Anyway, it was an exciting experience to go through the submarine.

In the picture there is one of four nine cylinder of opposed-piston diesel engines.  These are driving the generators.  Nine cylindars, 5,400 shaft horsepower and 21 knots on the surface.
